Airex Partners With Warmworks To Combat Fuel Poverty And Enhance Energy Efficiency In 33,000 Scottish Homes

We are proud to announce our partnership with Warmworks to deliver their energy-efficient solutions as part of the second phase of the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme. This collaboration aims to address fuel poverty, improve energy efficiency, and provide affordable warmth to homes across Scotland.

We’re pleased to be working with Airex to include this innovative technology among the suite of measures on offer through the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.

Airex was established with the purpose of alleviating fuel poverty by introducing innovative smart air brick technology, which not only minimises heat loss but also enhances air quality.

Warmworks, a dedicated provider of affordable warmth solutions, recognised the potential of Airex's Floorvent system as an innovative product that could significantly benefit their clients struggling with fuel poverty. In response, Warmworks introduced the Floorvent system to the Scottish Government-funded Warmer Homes Scotland programme.

With more than 27,000 homes across Scotland already supported to improve their energy efficiency since the scheme began in 2015, the Airex smart brick technology will be offered to suitable homes alongside existing heating and insulation measures, to help the scheme’s customers to be more comfortable at home and to better manage their energy bills.

The partnership kicked off with an initial trial involving the installation of Airex's Floorvent system in 40 homes. The primary focus of this trial was to understand resident attitudes and assess the ease of installation. The energy-saving benefits of the system, already established as part of Airex's ECO3 Demonstration Action, were also taken into account during this phase.

The trial installations, conducted in 2021, received positive feedback from both residents and the Warmworks installer network. This success led to the inclusion of the Floorvent system in Phase 1 of the Warmer Homes Scotland program on a full-time basis, with plans for a wider rollout across Scotland. To date, 500 Airex installations in Scottish homes have been completed, resulting in total annual bill savings of £125,000 for Warmworks customers.

We are thrilled to announce that we will continue to work with Warmworks on Phase 2 of the Scottish Government’s £728 million national program over a potential seven-year period to 2030.

There is huge potential for low-cost, easy-to-install energy efficiency solutions – the uptake of energy efficiency measures has, to date, been very much impacted by the disruptive nature of installation methods. Airex will be a fantastic addition, helping all stakeholders achieve Net Zero.
— Agnes Czako, CEO and Founder of Airex

The upcoming phase, commencing on October 2nd, 2023, adopts a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency enhancements for entire homes. Airex takes pride in being a part of this initiative, offering a solution that greatly enhances the comfort, warmth, and optimal energy efficiency of a home.

The partnership between Airex and Warmworks represents a significant step forward in addressing fuel poverty and enhancing energy efficiency in Scotland. Together, they are committed to making a lasting impact in the communities they serve, providing affordable warmth, and helping Scotland achieve its energy efficiency goals.
