  • Most homes built pre-1940 and many others have suspended floors, therefore will likely have air bricks. Almost any home with existing sub-floor air bricks can be fitted with Airex Floorvent. The easiest way to know if you have air bricks is to walk around your building and look at the floor-level external wall. Be sure to check behind bins, under door frames and conservatory doors.

  • It’s possible to do it yourself, as long as you’re comfortable with basic masonry work. We recommend using an installer who can install your smart air bricks professionally, and who guarantee their work. We can recommend an installer who has completed Airex training.

  • We recommend you keep your home hub plugged in, as it optimises the performance of the air bricks (using external data and weather information). If you accidentally unplug it, the air bricks will continue to open and close as required, although without the weather data that the hub provides the air bricks wont operate as optimal as possible. As soon as you plug it back in, the hub will connect again

  • Our systems monitor the sub-floor temperature and humidity readings to determine when the air bricks should open and close to allow ventilation that will keep your home warm and healthy, as well as to refine our algorithms which will improve their efficiency over time. Your data is not sold to any third parties. You can find out more at https://www.airex.tech/privacy.

  • The batteries last for 5 years. You’ll receive a notification when they are down to 15% to replace them. It’s as easy as changing the battery on a child’s toy and takes 2 minutes to do. If the batteries do run out, the vents will be left open until they’re replaced.

  • Your Airex products have a warranty period of 2 years.
